Mitel Transfers? (using D/82JCT board)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We are evaluating the demo, and would like to buy the enterprise edition asap, however, we have not been able to successfully transfer a call. We are using a Dialogic D/82JCT board, and the stations are set up as Superset 430's.

Mitel does not use tones to transfer - they use softkeys. Unsure how to configure either VoiceGuide or the TAPI to use softkey escape sequences to perform a transfer.

If anyone can help me solve this issue, it would be most appreciated. We are ready to purchase as soon as this is worked out.

Thank you.

We are using a Dialogic D/82JCT board

What is the D/82JCT? It is not listed on Dialogic’s own web site: http://www.intel.com/design/network/produc...ocessing.htm#vb

If you are using analog lines then the call transfer signal must be a combination of hookflashes and DTMF tones - please find out from Mitel what combination of hookflashes and tones the PBX expects and we can then assist in setting up VG's PBX configuration (Edit->PBX Command Strings menu) to issue the correct signals for your PBX.

Hm, never heard of it? Here is the link describing the Intel Dialogic Board. It is a digital PBX integration board. No analog.

D/82JCT-U

We know we have to issue an escape sequence to initiate the transfer, we were able to make one of Intels sample programs do it successfully, but VoiceGuide can't do it.

We need to issue an (ESC)Kd for the transfer. In the PBX strings part of the configuration, we entered $Kdx thinking that would issue the string and perform the transfer, but no luck so far.

VoiceGuide at this stage does not support the PBX integration functions of the D/82JCT card - and this card is not included on the Recommended Hardware list for that very reason.

At this stage work on getting this support added into VoiceGuide could be done if there was an order for a significant number of licenses requiring this function (about a $10,000+ order)

As much as your reply suggest that we use another product, there are external factors which favor us using VoiceGuide. So even though you don't support these boards yet, we'd like to try to get it to work.

Since yesterday, we have found a work-around to the transfer problem. Perhaps by posting it I can save other Mitel users with these boards some frustration:

The 'soft-key' transfer can be performed by VoiceGuide if you put the escape sequence as part of the extension you are calling.

Example - if you are emulating a Superset 430, and trying to do a blind transfer to ext 200, enter the following as the number you wish to transfer to:

$Kd,200

So far, we have not come across any other issues regarding the VoiceGuide product and this card.

Thank you for posting the solution.

We have not even tested with this card ourselves so we have not had the opportunity to see how VG would be able to send the PBX-extension-specific commands - but it looks like the Dialogic TAPI driver will pass the commands to the D/82 card with no problems...

The "$Kd" prefix you used is a command that the 'Bottom Left Softkey' should be pressed - and it looks like 'Bottom Left Softkey' was set on this extension to act as the 'Blind Transfer' key.

You can issue commands to use other keys as well:

"$KA" represents 'Personal Key 00'

"$KB" represents 'Personal Key 01'

... etc, etc ...

"$KK" represents 'Personal Key 10'

"$KL" represents 'Personal Key 11'

furthermore, on a Superset 430:

"$KM" represents 'Message Key'

"$KN" represents 'Super Key'

"$KP" represents 'Microphone'

"$KQ" represents 'Hold'

"$KR" represents 'Applications'

"$KS" represents 'Speaker'

"$KU" represents 'V/T/C up'

"$KV" represents 'V/T/C down'

and

"$Ka" represents 'Top Left Softkey'

"$Kb" represents 'Top Middle Softkey'

"$Kc" represents 'Top Right Softkey'

"$Kd" represents 'Bottom Left Softkey'

"$Ke" represents 'Bottom Middle Softkey'

"$Kd" represents 'Bottom Right Softkey'

which key is which is shown on the diagram at bottom of this post.

As it looks like using the extension keys works well on the Mitel Superswitch PBX there should be no reason why VG + D82JCT should work well on the other PBXs that D/82 supports:

Lucent Definity

Suiemens ROLM

Siemens Hicom

Nortel Norstar

Nortel Meridian

Most of above PBXs use the "$KA" to represent 'key 00', "$KB" to represent 'key 01' etc etc... we'll try to add the full list of the keys for various PBXs to VG Help file soon. In the meantime if anyone has any questions on other PBX's keys please post them in this forum and we post the relevant lists here.

So far, we have not come across any other issues regarding the VoiceGuide product and this card.

I guess we can then tentatively put this card on the 'Recommended Hardware' list...
